Dhaka University Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. ABM Obaidul Islam has called upon everyone to work with utmost sincerity from their respective positions to build a non-discriminatory, prosperous, progressive, democratic and humane country in the spirit of National Revolution and Solidarity Day. He made this call in his speech as the chairman of a discussion meeting organized at the Student-Teacher Center Auditorium on Saturday, November on the occasion of National Revolution and Solidarity Day.
Pro-Vice Chancellor (Education) Professor Dr. Abdus Salam, Pro-Vice Chancellor (Administration) Professor Dr. Mohammad Almojaddidi Alfesani, Dean of the Faculty of Law Professor Dr. Mohammad Ikramul Haque, Convener of the Provost Standing Committee Professor Dr. Md. Aminul Islam Bhuiyan, Convener of the Dhaka University Alumni Association Shamsuzzaman Dudu, General Secretary of Dhaka University Chhatra Dal Nahiduzzaman Shipon, and leaders of the Dhaka University Officers Association, Employees Association, Technical Employees Association and Fourth Class Employees Union spoke at the discussion meeting. Acting Registrar Munshi Shams Uddin Ahmed conducted the program.
Vice Chancellor Prof Dr. ABM Obaidul Islam highlighted the significance of National Revolution and Solidarity Day and said, on this day of November 7, 1975, the soldiers and people of the country unitedly foiled all conspiracies against the independence and sovereignty of Bangladesh. The historic November 7 was the day to identify the enemies and allies of Bangladesh.
Pro-Vice Chancellor (Education) Prof Dr. Abdus Salam highlighted the historical background of the day and said that it introduced multi-party democracy and Bangladeshi nationalism in the country and marked the beginning of productive politics.
Pro-Vice Chancellor (Admin) Prof Dr. Mohammad Almojaddidi Alfesani said that everyone should understand the significance of National Revolution and Solidarity Day and speak out against the hegemonic evil forces.
