British Council Regional Director calls on DU VC

South Asian Regional Director of British Council Ms. Helen Silvester called on Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. A S M Maksud Kamal on Thursday at the latter’s office of the university. She was accompanied by Country Director of British Council Mr. Tom Miscioscia.
During the meeting they discussed the possibilities of strengthening ongoing joint collaborative academic and research programs and introducing joint degree programs among Dhaka University and different universities in UK.
The VC stressed the need for undertaking more collaborative activities in the fields of research and innovation to enhance the quality of higher education in Bangladesh. He sought cooperation from British Council Regional Director for involvement of DU faculty members with renowned universities of UK to conduct innovative researches jointly. He also requested her to provide support and cooperation to DU students for higher study in UK as well as enroll more students with British Council language course to develop their English language skills.
British Council Regional Director assured the VC of providing all possible support and cooperation in this regard. Arranging of seminar, workshop and training programs under the joint auspices of Dhaka University and British Council was also discussed in the meeting.
