BNP maintains ‘zero tolerance’ stance against extortion, hooliganism: Rizvi

BNP Acting Secretary General Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi Ahmed on Moday said BNP's position is zero tolerance against those involved in extortion, hooliganism and various types of unethical activities.
If anyone is involved in any kind of wrongdoing using the party's name, strict measures will be taken against them, he said.
Rizvi, also a Political Adviser to Prime Minister, made the remarks at a views-exchange meeting organized at the hall room of a local hotel in Sylhet city.
He said a person from the neighboring country is giving various kinds of provocation. The government is moving forward by confronting all conspiracies of the defeated forces, he added.
He alleged that workers are being provoked in various ways, and there is instigation by the defeated forces behind this.
Criticizing the opposition party, the BNP Acting Secretary General said, the matter that could have been resolved through discussion in Parliament is instead being attempted to be resolved through a long march.
Regarding the local body elections, he said, the local government elections will not be held on party symbols. In this case, district BNP leaders will give party support to those candidates who have the possibility of winning, he said.
