Durgapur (Rajshahi) Correspondent
Abu Bakar Siddique, a member of the BNP central committee and a candidate for the Rajshahi-5 (Durgapur-Puthia) constituency, said that it will be possible to build a happy, prosperous and democratic Bangladesh by implementing the 31-point action plan for restructuring the state structure announced by Bangladesh Nationalist Party acting chairman Tarique Rahman.
He said, "This action plan will show the direction for restoring democracy, establishing people's voting rights, and building a truly people-friendly state. If BNP wins the people's vote and forms the government in the future, these 31 points will be implemented."
He made these remarks as the chief guest at a discussion meeting organized on Saturday afternoon at the Kathalbaria Primary School grounds in Jhaluka Union, Durgapur Upazila, Rajshahi, to implement the 31-point plan to repair the state structure announced by Tarique Rahman.
He further said, "Various conspiracies have begun surrounding the upcoming 13th National Parliament elections. There is no alternative to unity among political forces to jointly thwart all fascist conspiracies within and outside the country."
Regarding the ongoing situation regarding the elections, he said, "A sinister group is carrying out a well-planned conspiracy to prevent the elections from being held in the country on time. Attempts are being made to obstruct the democratic process under the pretext of the so-called PR method. The only discussion in the country's political arena now is to ensure the elections in February. This is the only way to overcome the serious crisis of democracy through fair elections on time."
He further said, "Those who are drawing a blueprint to delay the elections, the people will resist them. This election is not just a process of changing power; it is the only way to restore democracy and establish the rights of the people. Therefore, any conspiracy must be thwarted and the February elections must be ensured."
Finally, BNP central leader Abu Bakar Siddique called on party leaders and activists to commit to working together shoulder to shoulder with the nominated paddy sheaf leader to implement Tarique Rahman's 31-point agenda.
The meeting, organized by Jhaluka Union BNP, was presided over by former Union Jubo Dal president Faizul Islam. BNP leader Sarwar Hossain moderated the meeting.
