BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir today urged the international community to take urgent steps to stop the brutal killings and bloodshed in the Gaza Strip.

"The international community must be more vocal to stop Israel's expansionist aggression in Palestine and maintain peace and stability there and ensuring the security of people's lives and property," he said this in a statement sent to media.

The BNP Secretary General expressed deep concern and strongly condemned and protested the incident of numerous Palestinian people and children being killed in the Israeli army attack in the besieged Gaza Strip that has been going on for several days.

"Even in the holy month of Ramadan, inhuman and cruel barbarity is being carried out against the Palestinian people. The Gaza Strip has been turned into a slaughterhouse. More than a thousand Palestinians, including women and infants, have been brutally killed in indiscriminate airstrikes, ignoring international norms and rules," he said.

"The Palestinian land has turned into a lifeless desert due to Israel's continuous attacks for more than a year, and the valley is now a terrible place of death," said Mirza Fakhrul.

Terming this renewed attack as illegal and a heinous crime against humanity even after the ceasefire, the BNP Secretary General said, "The international community must take urgent steps to stop the bloodshed in the Gaza Strip."

This horrific and bloody aggression by Israel is a well-planned master plan to annihilate the Palestinian nation. The occupying Israelis forces are playing the game of dominance without any regard to world public opinion.”

He prayed for the forgiveness of the departed souls of the Palestinians killed in the Israeli military attack and expressed deep condolences to their loved ones, as well as wished a speedy recovery of the injured.
