Bangladesh now most ideal destination for US investors: Dr. Titumir

USA Bureau

Bangladesh Prime Minister's Adviser for Finance and Planning, Dr. Rashed Al Mahmud Titumir said, Bangladesh has emerged as the most viable, effective, and secure destination for American investments.

He made these remarks as the Chief Guest at a high-level roundtable discussion organized by the Business Council for International Understanding (BCIU) on Thursday (July 11) which saw a significant turnout of mainstream US business leaders and executives.

State Minister for Power, Energy, and Mineral Resources, Aninda Islam Amit, attended the event as the Special Guest.

Addressing the prominent gathering of US corporate leaders, Dr. Titumir emphasized the democratic transition in the country, stating, "Bangladesh is now governed by a democratic administration under the leadership of Prime Minister Tariq Rahman, who has been elected by the direct votes of the people. Following the historic legacy of martyred President Ziaur Rahman and the recently deceased Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia, the people of Bangladesh have placed their profound trust in the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP).

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman is working with utmost responsibility and transparency to fulfill the aspirations of the public."

He further underscored that the current government's proactive economic reforms make Bangladesh an incredibly lucrative and effective environment for US foreign direct investment (FDI).
Speaking as the Special Guest,

The State Minister highlighted the robust state of energy security and workforce availability in the country.

"Bangladesh possesses a massive, vibrant, and highly capable working-age population. The government has taken definitive and robust measures to guarantee long-term energy security for industrial growth.

Currently, initiatives to procure LPG directly from the United States are actively underway. Consequently, full energy security is completely guaranteed for all prospective investors," the State Minister assured.

The dialogue concluded with an interactive session where leading US conglomerates expressed keen interest in exploring expanding markets, technology transfers, and infrastructural partnerships within the newly reformed economic framework of Bangladesh.
