Awami League leader beats teacher, student in class room in Amtali

It has been alleged that teacher Hamidur Rahman and student Ashiq Ghazi entered the classroom and beaten.
Student Rakib and teachers have complained against the Awami League leader Md Jahangir Howlader of the Eighthogachia Union Awami League of Amtali Upazila.
Police arrested the Awami League leader involved in the incident on Tuesday night. Police released him on Wednesday afternoon after the overnight drama. Anger among the teachers, students and parents over the incident. The incident took place on Tuesday afternoon at North Sonakhali School and College in Amtali Upazila.
It is reported that Md. Rakib, son of Md Jahangir Howlader's brother, was studied in the tenth grade at North Sonakhali School and College, a member of the Awami League committee member of the Amtali upazila. The incident took place between Rakib and Ashiq Gazi of the same class before the school holidays on Tuesday afternoon. In the wake of the incident, the Awami League leader entered the school classroom and beat Ashik Ghazi. At that time, teacher Hamidur Rahman protested and beat him. The Awami League leader beat the teacher and the student from the school in Bir Darp. Later, the school teachers rescued the students and teachers and brought them to Amtali Upazila Health Complex.
They were admitted to the hospital. On receiving the news, Amtali Upazila Executive Officer Muhammad Ashraful Alam directed the police officer in charge of the Awami League leader. Police later arrested him. Ashiq's father Babul Ghazi filed a written complaint at the police station on Wednesday morning. Police released Jahangir Howlader on Wednesday afternoon after the overnight drama. The incident is spreading among the teachers, students and parents of the school. They demanded punishment by bringing the Awami League leader under the law. The teacher of Hamidur Rahman's house is in Kalinagar village of Nalitabari upazila of Sherpur district. It is alleged that teacher Hamidur Rahman has been pressured not to sue. A year ago, a student named Mehdi Hasan was beaten by Awami League leader Jahangir and left him in Kachuripana. The case is underway in that case. He was in jail for several days in the case.
Student Ashiq Ghazi said, "I was talking to Rakib about reading in the classroom. In this case, Rakib's uncle Jahangir Howlader came and entered the class room and beat me. Hamidur Rahman Sir protested and beat him. I demand the punishment of the incident.
BNP convenor Farooq Hossain Mridha said that the school teacher, the school teacher, cannot be accepted. I am demanding severe punishment for the incident.
Assistant teacher of the school Hamidur Rahman said. Entering the class room, the student Ashiq Ghazi beat the Awami League leader. If I protested it, I also beat me. He added, "My house is far away. If the Awami League leader complains against the leader, the school will take the head teacher. I have nothing to do here. I refuse to say nothing beyond that.
Awami League leader Jahangir Howlader said the matter was resolved. He did not answer the question of how the solution was?
The school's head teacher Md Yusuf Ali said, "If the student committed the crime, the Awami League leader Jahangir Howlader entered the class room and beat the student and teacher." Anger is raging among the teachers, students and parents over the incident.
Medical Officer of Amtali Upazila Health Complex Dr Rashed Mahmud Roknuzzaman said the injured teacher's head was injured. He was admitted to the hospital with proper treatment.
Amtali Police Station OC Md. Ariful Islam Arif said Jahangir Howlader has been released after both sides gave compromise.
Amtali UNO Muhammad Ashraful Alam said, the acting police officer has been instructed to take strict action against those involved in the beating of the students and teachers.
