Attack on journalist Akhtar Faruk Shaheen in Barishal condemned by Nationalist Journalists Forum

Senior journalist and Barishal Bureau Chief of Daily Jugantor, Akhtar Faruk Shaheen, was attacked. The allegation was that some Awami terrorists carried out the attack. The Nationalist Journalists Forum, Barisal, has termed such an attack on a professional journalist as highly condemnable and worrisome.
In a statement, the leaders of the organization said that any kind of attack on journalists is unacceptable. They strongly condemned the incident and demanded that those involved be brought to justice quickly through a fair investigation and exemplary punishment be ensured.
Nationalist Journalist Forum Barisal President Alhaj Nurul Amin and General Secretary Kazi Jahangir demanded the immediate arrest and appropriate punishment of the terrorists involved in the attack. At the same time, they strongly demanded the administration to ensure the overall security of journalist Akhtar Faruk Shaheen.
