Ansar and VDP's plantation drive in Betagi

A tree plantation drive was held in Betagi, Barguna, at the initiative of Ansar and VDP forces to protect the balance of the environment and increase greening. As part of the 500 tree plantation program in 'A' class districts, 250 different species of fruit and forest tree saplings were planted in Betagi Upazila as per the instructions of the headquarters.
The tree plantation program was held on Monday in the Basonda area of the Betagi-Patuakhali regional road of the upazila and in the premises of Basonda Adarsh Government Primary School No. 25.
The day-long program included planting saplings of various species of fruit and forest trees, as well as creating public awareness about the importance of trees in protecting the environment. Those concerned expressed hope that the local environment would become greener and more aesthetic as a result of planting saplings along the roads and in school premises.
Betagi Upazila Ansar and VDP officer Abdul Mannan Mia, Upazila Trainer Md. Jewel Rana, VDP team leaders Oli Ahmed, Sukdev Hawlader, Kamruzzaman Titu, Ansar Commander Md. Mujibur Rahman, Md. Mainul Islam, team leaders Mosa. Nasima Begum, Mosa. Halima, Shila Rani, Farida Parveen and members of Ansar and VDP were present at the tree plantation program.
Platoon members of the Sanjeevan Piloting Project and members receiving allowances from Ansar and VDP actively participated in this program.
The organizers said that trees not only maintain the balance of the environment, but also have a close relationship with human life and livelihood. Therefore, they hope to continue such programs for environmental protection and greening in the future.
