Altaf-Hafiz jailed, 11 acquitted in police obstruction case

A court in Dhaka on Thursday sentenced former home minister Air Vice Marshal (retd) Altaf Hossain Chowdhury and Major (retd) Md Hafiz Uddin Ahmed to jail for 21 months in a case filed for obstructing police from conducting their duties.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Rajesh Chowdhury pronounced the judgement, said BNP lawyer Zia Uddin Zia.
Another accused Major (retd) Md Hanif was also sentenced to jail for 21 months in the case.
