Court Correspondent
The High Court has said that the violence and deaths caused in the students' quota reform movement are very unfortunate, stating, "All deaths are tragic. We are ashamed of the violence and loss of life surrounding the quota reform movement."
The High Court bench of Justice Mustafa Zaman Islam and Justice SM Masud Hossain Dolon made these remarks on Tuesday during the hearing of a writ petition seeking an order not to open fire on protesters and the release of six coordinators of the quota reform movement from DB custody.
The High Court also said, "Everything is written in the Constitution and the law. But none of us are following them."
