The current government is working to establish an impartial rule of law and ensure an effective judicial system in the country, said Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Md. Asaduzzaman MP. He said, "We want to make the judiciary more strong and effective to restore the trust of the people of the country."

He made these remarks while speaking as the chief guest at a discussion meeting and reception organized by the Magura District Bar Association at the association's hall on Sunday afternoon.

The Law Minister said that the rule of law in the country has been damaged in the past 16 years. The current government is working towards establishing a democratic and accountable state system and has taken various initiatives to ensure the independence and impartiality of the judiciary.

He said that currently more than 4.5 million cases are pending in the country. The government is taking effective steps to resolve these cases quickly and fairly. In addition, there are plans to bring about 80,000 lawyers of the country under training to improve the quality of judicial services. He said, "Skilled lawyers are an important asset of the country's judicial system."

Magura District Bar Association President Advocate Mizanur Rahman presided over the program, which was attended by Magura-1 constituency MP Monowar Hossain Khan, Senior District and Sessions Judge Md. Mizanur Rahman, Chief Judicial Magistrate Md. Saiful Islam, Deputy Commissioner Motakabbir Ahmed, Superintendent of Police Molla Azad Hossain, and District BNP Convener and District Council Administrator Ali Ahmed.

District Bar Association General Secretary Shahed Hasan Tagor, Advocate Ahmed Hossain, Advocate Abdul Majid, Advocate Roknuzzaman Khan and Advocate Tanjira Rahman also spoke at the event.

After the program, the Law Minister distributed various relief materials among the poor, distressed, indigent and disabled people at the Magura District Auditorium organized by the Sadar Upazila Parishad.
