After being closed for 3 and a half hours due to Brahmanbaria Immigration Police stoppage, passenger transit operations to India have started again on a limited basis through Brahmanbaria's Akhaura International Immigration Check post.

The immigration authorities said that the passenger crossing process was normalized from 1 pm on Wednesday (07 August). However, tourist visa and business visa passenger transit will remain closed until further instructions.

From 10 am on Wednesday, the members of the Akhaura Immigration Police started a strike on the same demand. Due to this, passenger crossing operations in India were stopped. After that, passenger traffic started again from 1 pm to alleviate the suffering of passengers due to humanitarian reasons. However, among the Bangladeshi passengers, only seriously ill medical visa holders are being given the opportunity to travel to India. In-charge Khairul Alam said that the passage of tourists and business visa passengers has been stopped.

Meanwhile, when the students are cleaning the roads in various places in Brahmanbaria district, at the very moment, Shimul Bhuiyan , the Juba Dal leader of Maldar Para of akhaura upazila has been accused of forcibly encroaching on the house of his neighbor late Abdul Awal Master.

Eyewitnesses said that at three o'clock in the afternoon on Wednesday, Shimul Bhuiyan brought a number of miscreants and tried to forcefully occupy the house of Abdulwal Master by breaking the walls and roof of the house.
