Ajmeri Osman's main aide Pagla Hamid arrested in N'ganj

Joint forces arrested Ajmeri Osman cadre Abdul Hamid alias Pagla Hamid in Narayanganj on Tuesday at 10 pm. Bsed on a tip-off, the joint police and army raided Chadni housing area under Fatulla police station and arrested him. Later he was handed over to Fatulla Model Police Station.

Pagla Hamid was a close aide of Ajmeri Osman, one of the accused in the Tanveer Muhammad Takki murder case. He is one of the members of Ajmeri Osman's cadre force. He was always seen in his car at Ajmeri Osman's rehearsals in the city.

OC of Fatulla Model Police Station Shariful Islam said, 'Hamid was our target. He has been arrested. There is a case against him for armed attack on the anti-discrimination student movement. Initially, he was shown to be arrested in that case.

Son of late Ajmeri Jatiya Party Member of Parliament Nasim Osman and nephew of former Awami League Member of Parliament Shamim Osman. Hamid had a reign of terror in Fatullah's Sasongaon area with the help of Ajmeri Osman. He had great control over extortion and Zhut terror in the Bisik industrial area.

According to local sources, Pagla Hamid was once the driver of Shamim Osman's companion, Fatulla Thana Awami League president Saifullah Badal. Later he became close with Ajmeri Osman. There are various charges against him including murder, drug trade, land grabbing. Ajmeri Osman gave cover to the student uprising, but many associates remained in Narayanganj. Hamid is one of them. It is alleged that he survived in the area in connivance with some local BNP leaders.

Just hours before Hamid's arrest, his accomplice Anis was arrested in an army operation. Meanwhile, the news of the arrest of madman Hamid brought relief to the area.

Murder case against Hasina, Quader, Shamim Osman 107 others in N’ganj

A murder case has been filed against 107 people including former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, former Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader, former parliamentarian AKM Shamim Osman in connection with the killing of a young man named Rafiqul Islam (24) in the anti-discrimination student movement in Siddhirganj of Narayanganj district. Another 100-120 unknown persons have been accused in this case.

The case was filed at Siddhirganj police station on Tuesday (October 15) at 12 pm. Earlier, Sufia Begum, the mother of the deceased Rafiqul Islam, filed the case as the plaintiff in the Narayanganj court on Tuesday afternoon.

OC Al Mamun of Siddhirganj police station confirmed the filing of the case at 12:30 that night. He said that the case has been taken on the orders of the court.

It is mentioned in the case that on July 21, during the anti-discrimination student movement in Heerajhil area of Chittagang Road, Siddhirganj, the accused shot the victim two consecutive times on the orders of accused No. 1, 2 and 3, and he fell on the ground. Later, the people present at the scene rescued him and took him to the signboard Pro-Active Hospital, the doctors there referred him to Dhaka Medical College Hospital. After that, when he was taken to Dhaka Medical College with serious injuries, the doctor in charge there declared him dead.

HSC, equivalent exam results : Madrasa leads the pass rate in N'ganj

In Narayanganj this year, Madrasa students are ahead of colleges in terms of pass rate in HSC and equivalent exams. The pass percentage in the college is 76.94 percent. And the pass rate in Madrasa (Alim) is 94.49 percent. Also, the pass rate in HSC (Vocational) examination is 85.64 percent.

This information was revealed in the review of HSC and equivalent results published on Tuesday (October 15) afternoon.

According to the data, this year a total of 1,54 candidates have passed in the district with GPA-5. Out of which 946 candidates got GPA-5 in HSC. 17 people got GPA-5 in HSC (Vocational) examination. And 91 got GPA-5 in Alim exam.

The pass percentage in HSC is 76.94 percent. The pass percentage in Alim exam is 94.49 percent. The pass percentage in HSC (Vocational) examination is 85.64 percent.

Narayanganj District Education Officer. Yunus Faruqi said that 22 thousand 341 candidates from Narayanganj district participated in the HSC examination this year. Out of which 17 thousand 191 have passed the exam, the pass rate is 76.94 percent. 946 candidates got GPA-5.

890 people appeared for Alim exam this year. Out of which 841 passed the exam. The pass percentage is 94.49 percent. 91 people got GPA-5. Also, 620 people participated in the HSC (Vocational) examination this year. Out of which 531 passed the exam. The pass percentage is 85.64 percent. 17 people got GPA-5.

Meanwhile, a total of 556 candidates obtained GPA-5 in HSC and equivalent examinations in Narayanganj last year. Last year the pass rate in HSC was 81.37 percent. The pass percentage in the Alim exam was 90.59 percent. The pass percentage in the HSC (Vocational) examination was 90.94 percent.

38 people affected in 24 hours : Dengue situation takes serious turn in N’ganj

The spread of dengue mosquitoes has increased in Narayanganj. Transmission of the Aedes mosquito-borne virus is also on the rise.

In the last 24 hours ending on , 38 people have been infected with dengue fever in Narayanganj.

Narayanganj District Civil Surgeon Dr. AFM Mushiur Rahman said that dengue is increasing during the rainy season. However, the health department has all the preparations to deal with dengue. This year, a total of 768 people have been infected with dengue in Narayanganj. 651 people left the hospital with treatment. Currently there are 65 people admitted.

Dengue patients have started increasing from this week. At least 7/8 dengue positive in every 30 people dengue test. Although 8 dengue patients are identified in Narayanganj every day, most of them leave. The patient is treated at home after seeing the doctor in the hospital. Victoria Hospital is always crowded with patients. At least 20/30 dengue tests and 15/20 platelet tests are required at Victoria Hospital every day. Khanpur hospital is also crowded. In Khanpur also 30/40 people have to undergo dengue and platelet test.

Meanwhile, there is no death in Narayanganj despite the increase in dengue cases. Severe dengue patients are referred to Dhaka. Meanwhile, Nashik authorities are sending special teams to various educational institutions in the city to spread awareness about dengue disease in the metropolis. Members of this team are conducting campaigns about dengue in various educational institutions. Young children are teaching teenagers how to clean the water that collects on the back of the fridge. Moreover, sit around the house so that nothing accumulates water.

At least 8/10 patients are receiving treatment every day in two government hospitals of Narayanganj city. Many patients were returned to Khanpur 300-bed hospital and Narayanganj General Hospital due to shortage of beds. Dengue test goes six nine. The racketeers extort extra money from patients by promising to get them tested quickly. All patients are told that dengue report will be given at 2.30 pm. But even sitting on the balcony of the hospital from morning to half past two, the patient does not get the report. People from the pathology department said on their faces that they would get it tomorrow morning. Don't rush.

The broker creates panic by going to the patients who sit till noon with dengue test. First ask for name. Then say that the condition of your son or daughter is not good. I have acquaintances in pathology. He gave fifty rupees. Let me bring the test report. Really, that broker boy took fifty rupees and brought out the report. Then it says, your patient's platelets are decreasing. Rush the patient to Dhaka Medical College Hospital. Otherwise the patient cannot be saved.

According to the information of the district health department, no death has been reported in Narayanganj so far. However, according to the information of the Health Directorate of the Government of Bangladesh, there are deaths from Narayanganj to Dhaka.

According to the daily report published by the Narayanganj District Civil Surgeon's Office, this information was received till Wednesday morning.

In the last 24 hours ending on Wednesday , a total of 68 people have been admitted with dengue in Narayanganj 300-bed hospital, Sadar General (Victoria) Hospital, Araihazar Upazila Health Complex, Bandar Upazila Health Complex, Rupganj Upazila Health Complex and Sonargaon Upazila Health Complex.

At present, 700 people have received exemption from hospitals in the entire district of Narayanganj.
