The only source of income for Md. Ayub Farazi, a dedicated BNP worker in Shayestabad Union No. 4 of Barisal Sadar Upazila, is his small shop. Recently, miscreants, who were roaming around late at night, and according to local BNP leaders, Awami terrorists, set the shop on fire.
Everything was instantly consumed by fire, leaving Ayub Farazi, his wife and children in extreme danger.
Following the incident, BNP National Executive Committee member Abu Naser Muhammad Rahmatullah visited the damaged shops recently.
He provided financial assistance to Ayub Farazi's family after seeing the situation on the spot.
At the time, he said, such a barbaric attack on the livelihood of a political activist is a threat to democratic politics.
During the inspection, Shayestabad Union Acting Chairman Shamsul Kabir Farhad, District Chhatra Dal Vice-President Asif Al Mamun, leader and activist Ilias Ahmed, local BNP leader Monirul Islam, Badal Sardar, along with prominent figures and locals were present.
