8th grade student dies after hearing news of teacher's death in Naogaon

A teacher named Umme Kulsum was killed in a head-on collision between a CNG and a paddy threshing machine in Badalgachhi, Naogaon. Another teacher was injured in the incident.
Meanwhile, a student named Tasneem from the same school died after hearing the news of the death of her beloved teacher.
The tragic accident occurred at the Chakrail Battali intersection area of the upazila on Tuesday afternoon.
The deceased SinNG passenger and teacher Kulchum is from the Sadar Dargapara area of the upazila. He is an assistant teacher at Badalgachhi Labanya Probha and Community Girls High School. The injured person is Momtaz Jahan, a resident of Gorshahi village in Sadar upazila. He is also an assistant teacher at the same school.
On the other hand, the deceased Tasnim was an eighth grade student of the same school. On the day of the incident, Tasnim fell ill after hearing the news of her teacher's death and seeing it on social media. Later, when she was taken to Badalgachhi Upazila Health Complex, the doctor on duty declared the student dead.
The student's father, Abul Kalam, said, "My daughter immediately lost consciousness after seeing the news of her teacher Kulchum's death on Facebook. Later, when she was taken to Badalgachhi Hospital, the doctor examined her and declared her dead."
Asaduzzaman Nahid, Resident Medical Officer of Badalgachhi Upazila Health Complex, said, "The student may have lost consciousness after witnessing an interesting incident. However, nothing can be said clearly about the cause of death right now. The exact cause of death will be known once the post-mortem report is received."
According to local sources, the passenger CNG bus left for Rajshahi with two passengers from Gorshahi area of the upazila. When it reached the Chakrail Battali intersection area, it collided head-on with a paddy threshing machine coming from Matajihat. The intensity of the collision at the scene caused the CNG bus to twist and turn, and assistant teacher Kulchum died on the spot. Another teacher, Momtaz Jahan, was seriously injured at the time.
Later, locals rescued the injured teacher and admitted him to Badalgachhi Upazila Health Complex. When his condition deteriorated, he was reportedly sent to Naogaon Sadar Hospital for better treatment.
Badalgachhi Police Station OC Nazrul Islam said, "One person was killed in the accident. And after seeing the news of the teacher's death, I received news of the death of a student of the same school. The matter is very sad. Necessary measures are being taken in this incident."
