8 people get life for murdering farmer in Netrakona

The District and Sessions Judge Court awarded life sentence to 8 people in the murder case of farmer Rafiqul Islam alias Rahit Mia in Netrokona Durgapur on Sunday.
At the time, the judge ordered each of them to be sentenced to another 5 years imprisonment without paying a fine of 20 thousand taka.
In the presence of the defendants, the judge of the District and Sessions Judge Court Hafizur Rahman gave this verdict.
The convicted accused are Ismail Hossain, Kajal Mia, Mojibur Rahman, Ashrab Ali, Chamedul, Shajahan Ali, Nazrul and Nurul Amin of Nanderchati village of Durgapur Upazila. It is known that the defeated opponent with the supporters of Tota Member for supporting the member candidate in the Union Parishad elections.
Conflicts arise. Because of this, on January 25, 2012, when he went to irrigate the land, after killing Rafiq, the accused in the case left him in a sack. Later, the body was recovered by the police. On January 26, 2012, the accused accused in Durgapur police station, Rafiqul's father A. Motaleb filed a case. At the end of the investigation, after the charge sheet was submitted to the court, the court accepted the testimony of 11 witnesses. Almost a century later, the judge gave this verdict as the crime against those involved in the murder case was proven.
