NSTU Correspondent

The 6th Noakhali Science And Technology University Model United Nations (NSTUMUN) conference began on Thursday with the participation of over 220 students to explore the theme - "Harnessing Robust Infrastructure and Industrialization for Cohesive Prosperity" with the moto solidarity for prosperity.

The three-day-long conference, organized by the NSTU Model United Nations Association (NSTUMUNA) NSTUMUNA in collaboration with United Nations Bangladesh, was held at Hazi Mohammad Edris Auditorium of NSTU.

The opening ceremony set the stage, where the honorable Vice Chancellor of NSTU, Professor Dr. Md. Didar-ul-Alam, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Alongside, the dignified assembly included notable figures such as Treasurer - Professor Dr. Newaz Mohammed Bahadur, Registrar - Md. Jashim Uddin, Proctor - Dr. Md. Anisuzzaman.

Over 220 students from home and abroad participated in the conference and were divided into various committees mirroring real-world UN bodies, as delegates donned the hats of diplomats, representing nations with diverse perspectives and interests and 20 Executive Board Members to regulate and guide them.

The theme of this year's conference focuses on a future where strong infrastructure, like reliable transportation and clean energy, connects people and fuels responsible industrial growth. This growth, guided by policies promoting fair access and skills development, creates widespread well-being, reducing inequality and ensuring everyone benefits from economic progress.

While challenges exist, achieving this future requires deliberate planning, collaboration, and a commitment to sustainability and shared prosperity.
