62-kg deer venison seized from Kapotakh river

After hunting deer in Sundarbans, while bringing the meat to the locality after slaughtering it, the members of the forest department seized it based on secret information. The meat was recovered in a joint operation of Angtihara Coast Guard and Kobatak Forest Office of Sundarbans.

The amount of recovered deer meat is 62 kg.

On Saturday at around 2:30 am, members of the joint forces under the leadership of Kobatak Forest Station Officer (SO) of Satkhira Range, Anwar Hossain, seized deer meat from the Kapotaksh river adjacent to the Sundarbans. The poachers left the goods and fled to the Sundarbans on sensing the presence of the joint forces. After searching the boat, the raiding party seized 62 kg of deer meat and a boat along with related goods.

Satkhira Range Assistant Conservator of Forests (ACF) Md. Moshiur Rahman confirmed the matter and said that three poachers in the Sundarbans hunted deer and tried to bring it to the locality. After learning about the matter, the members of the joint forces quickly conducted an operation.
