48 BGB's view exchange meeting, free medical campaign held in Jaintapur

A view exchange meeting and free medical campaign were organized in Jaintapur by Border Guard Bangladesh, Sylhet Battalion (48 BGB).

This opinion exchange meeting and free medical campaign was held at Rangpani Captain Rashid School and College in the upazila on Sunday at 10:30 am.

The opinion exchange meeting was moderated by Mohammad Farukh Hossain PBGM, Assistant Director of Border Guard Bangladesh Sylhet Battalion (48 BGB), and Lieutenant Colonel Md. Hafizur Rahman PSC, Commander of Sylhet Battalion (48 BGB), spoke as the chief guest at the opinion exchange meeting.

At this time, Jaintapur Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Ms. Farzana Akhter Laboni, Assistant Superintendent of Police (Kanaighat Circle) Alok Sharma, Officer-in-Charge of Jaintapur Model Police Station Abul Basar Mohammad Badruzzaman, Deputy Commander of Jaintapur Upazila Muktijoddha Sangsad Shri Yadavmoy Biswas, Chairman of Jaintapur Union Parishad No. 2 Fakhrul Islam were also present as special guests in the exchange meeting.

At this time, BGB delivered a public awareness speech and gave directions to protect the border and protect people's lives and property. The speech also said that the activities of BGB for border security are continuing. At this time, it was called upon to create public awareness by ignoring the ban and crossing the border or avoiding areas adjacent to the border.

At that time, the guests present called for the issue of opening the stone quarry as before to ensure employment of the workers to be taken to the attention of the higher authorities through the BGB. They said that due to the closure of the quarry, smuggling has increased at the border. The majority of the workers in this upazila are involved in stone quarrying. Now, since they do not have permission to quarry stones, they are forced to cross the border and go to India. As a result, there are incidents of arrests in India, including deaths.

Former chairman of Jaintapur Union No. 2 Alhaj Alamgir Hossain, Haji Mostaq Ahmed Chowdhury, headmaster of Biam Dr. Kudrat Ullah School Abu Sufian Bilal, eminent teacher Abdus Sattar, president of Sreepur Pathar Quarry Association Abdul Ahad, Soleman Ahmed Kontu, general secretary of Chinnamul Mini Stone Crusher Mill Owners Association Shafiqul Islam Shafiq, acting principal of Rangpani Captain Rashid School and College Oliur Rahman Sarkar, Sunil Debnath, Zahid Mia, Rafiq Ahmed, UP member Abdul Halim, local dignitaries and journalists from print and electronic media of Jaintapur Gowainghat Upazila were present.

Later, a free medical campaign was held under the initiative of Border Guard Bangladesh Sylhet Battalion (48 BGB). During this time, men, women, and children from Greater No. 4 Bengal, border areas, and marginalized areas received free medical services and medicines.
