4 killed in Bagerhat as pickup van hits easybike

Four passengers of an easybike were killed after a pickup van hit the vehicle in Bagerhat’s Fakirhat upazila this morning.
The accident occurred around 8:30 am in the Nowapara area on the Khulna-Bagerhat highway, also leaving one person injured.
The victims were identified as Nipa Begum, 28, a school teacher, and masons Md Masum, 30, Shawkat Ali, 40, and Hiron, 45.
According to police and locals, the pickup van crashed into the easybike, killing three passengers instantly. Two others were critically injured, and one later died on the way to Khulna Medical College Hospital from Fakirhat Upazila Health Complex.
The bodies were recovered and will be handed over to the families following legal formalities, said SI Ashraful Huq of Katakhali Highway Police Station.
