4 arrested in sand theft case in Sunamganj

Four individuals have been arrested along with a trolley loaded with mineral sand in connection with a theft incident on Friday.
The arrested individuals were presented before the Sunamganj Magistrate Court.
The arrestees are Abdul Mannan, Nabi Nur, Rahmat Ali, and Monir Hossain — all residents of Purbo Kachirgati village in the Bishwambharpur upazila of Sunamganj.
Tahirpur Police Station Inspector (Investigation) Abdul Kader confirmed the matter.
Earlier, on Thursday, police arrested the four individuals while they were transporting mineral sand in a trolley via the Anwar Road of Tahirpur. The sand was allegedly stolen from government khas land (unleased fallow land recorded in official documents) located near the border in Bishwambharpur upazila.
Police seized the trolley and the mineral sand. The value of the seized sand and trolley is estimated at approximately BDT 275,600.
A case was filed at Tahirpur Police Station on Thursday night, with the police acting as the complainant under the relevant legal provisions.
