
2553 students absent in Cumilla Board on first day of SSC Exam

Some 2,553 students were absent on the first day of SSC examination in six districts under Cumilla Education Board.
It is also learnt that one student was expelled during the Bengali first paper examination on that day. Cumilla Education Board Chairman Professor Md. Shamsul Islam confirmed this to the media after the examination.
When attention was drawn to the absence of so many students, he said, 'We are collecting information on absence from the district level. After collecting center-wise information, it will be known why the students remained absent. We will have separate observations in these matters.'
According to Cumilla Education Board sources, out of the six districts under this board, 812 examinees were absent in the first day of the Bengali examination in Cumilla district, 337 in Chandpur district, 572 in Brahmanbaria district, 444 in Noakhali district, 177 in Feni district and 211 in Laxmipur district. In addition, a examinee from Barura-04 Payalgachha Multipurpose High School Center in Cumilla district has been expelled for engaging in misconduct in the Cumilla Board.
There are 1,69,680 SSC examinees under the Cumilla Education Board this year. Which is 13,748 more than last year. 29,380 more female students are participating in this year's SSC examination than the male students in the Cumilla Board.
In addition, this time, 23 scribes are participating in the Cumilla board with the help of scribes and two candidates are taking the exam from prison, board sources said.
Earlier, after visiting various centers in Cumilla district after the exam started in the morning, Cumilla Deputy Commissioner Md. Amirul Kaiser said, 'The administration is determined to hold cheating-free exams. In addition, recommendations will be made to conduct awareness-raising activities to prevent students from dropping out.'
