24 arrested in Rajshahi city including 6 in special operation linked to student movement violence

A total of 24 individuals have been arrested in Rajshahi Metropolitan area during various operations conducted by the Rajshahi Metropolitan Police (RMP), including a special operation that led to the arrest of 6 suspects involved in violent incidents on Monday. Over the past 24 hours, RMP’s local police stations and the Detective Branch (DB) carried out raids across different parts of the city. Six individuals were arrested on charges related to attacks on the anti-discrimination student movement, involvement in explosions, and other criminal activities.In addition, another 18 individuals were apprehended in ongoing police drives. Among them, 3 were wanted under existing warrants, 4 were arrested in narcotics-related cases, and 11 were held for various other offenses.The six arrested in the special operation have been identified as:Md. Inzamamul Haque Kanan (28) – son of Md. Ekramul Haque, resident of Bhata Para, Kader Mondol Mor area, Rajpara Police Station. He is a former president of the Chhatra League’s Ward No. 5 unit. Rafique Haji (48) – an Awami League activist, son of Abdur Rahman from Ramchandrapur village under Poba Police Station.Md. Sahid Hasan (23) – son of Md. Abdul Gafur, resident of the Kashiadanga area.Md. Shuvo Ahmed (20) – son of Md. Saidul Islam, also from Kashiadanga.Md. Riyad Islam (21) – son of the late Tomammel Haque.Md. Abir Hasan (21) – son of Md. Manik.Legal proceedings have been initiated against all the arrested individuals, RMP sources confirmed.
