The 1st day of the 5th phase 48-hour road, rail, and waterways blockade, enforced by BNP, Jamaat-e-Islami, and like-minded opposition parties, is underway across the country amid arson attacks.
The ongoing blockade started at 6am on Wednesday and will end at 6am on Friday.
BNP, Jamaat and like-minded parties announced the blockade programme to press home their demand of holding the next general election under a non-partisan government.
The traffic counting on the street today in Dhaka is more compared to the three previous blockades.
Unidentified miscreants set four buses on fire in the capital’s Mirpur area on Tuesday night.
In a virtual press conference on Tuesday afternoon, Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, senior joint secretary general of the party, called on the leaders and workers to make this blockade programme a success.
