In a raid by the Zorarganj Police Station, 12 tons of 100 kg iron rods stolen from a consignment of BSRM Company have been recovered. At the same time, 3 accused involved in the incident have been arrested.

The stolen rods were recovered during a raid conducted in Tarabo area under Rupganj police station in Narayanganj district on Thursday. The estimated value of the recovered rods is Tk 1 million. Additional Superintendent of Police Md. Russell confirmed this information at a press briefing on Friday afternoon.

Police Superintendent Md. Russel said that on August 14, at approximately 3 pm, 13 tons of iron rods of various sizes were stolen from the BSRM Company under Zorarganj Police Station in Mirsarai Upazila while they were being sent to Sunamganj by truck. After the incident, Zorarganj Police Station took the matter seriously and started operations to quickly recover the stolen goods and bring those involved under the law.

The accused, Md. Riyad Hossain, was arrested from the Bariyarhat area on Wednesday after conducting a series of raids using information technology and intelligence information to identify the locations of the accused. Based on the information provided by him, the next day, on August 20, a raid was conducted in the Tarabo area under Rupganj police station in Narayanganj district, and the truck helper, Md. Hadish Mollah, was arrested.

Later, based on the information provided by the arrested accused and information obtained during the investigation, a raid was conducted in Jangalia area under Mohammadpur police station of Magura district and Abul Bashar alias Banshi was arrested. Based on the information provided by him, 12 tons of 100 kg iron rods stolen from a shop called "Ayan Enterprise" in Mohammadpur Bazar were recovered.

Mirsarai-Jorarganj Circle Assistant Superintendent of Police Md. Nadim Haider Chowdhury and Jorarganj Police Station Officer-in-Charge Abdul Halim were also present at the press briefing.
