BGB provides humanitarian assistance in Rangamati

The Small Harina Battalion (12 BGB) in Barkal, Rangamati, has provided financial assistance to individuals and institutions under its Harmony and Development Project.
On Thursday, the assistance was distributed at the Small Harina Battalion headquarters under the Harmony and Development Project.
The initiative included corrugated tin sheets for repairing houses of underprivileged families and religious institutions, cash assistance for medical treatment of distressed people, sewing machines to support self-reliance, financial assistance for poor and underprivileged students, and solar panels. A total of approximately Tk 71,000 in financial assistance and donations was provided to 15 beneficiaries.
The relief materials and financial assistance were distributed at 9:30 a.m. in front of the Totini Post at the battalion headquarters. Lieutenant Colonel Kazi Mahtab Uddin Ahmed, Engineers, Zone Commander of the 12 BGB Small Harina Zone, attended the event as the chief guest. He handed over the assistance to the beneficiaries and inquired about their well-being.
Speaking on the occasion, the Zone Commander said that BGB considers not only protecting the country’s borders but also working for the welfare of the people as one of its responsibilities.
Underprivileged residents of the remote border areas welcomed and appreciated the BGB’s initiative.
Acting Quartermaster and Assistant Director of 12 BGB Md. Masud Rana, other BGB officers, and members of the media were also present at the event.
