Ansar-VDP launches anti-dengue drive in Adamdighi

Members of the Ansar and Village Defence Party (VDP) conducted a special clean-up and mosquito eradication drive across Adamdighi upazila under Bogura district on Thursday, aimed at curbing the spread of dengue and destroying Aedes mosquito breeding sites.
Organized under the directive of the Bogura District Commandant, the program was led by Adamdighi Upazila Ansar-VDP Officer Farjana Kader Sumi, with active participation from embodied Ansar Platoon Commanders (PC), Assistant Platoon Commanders (APC), and general Ansar personnel.
During the drive, operational teams cleared accumulated waste and stagnant water from drains and ditches surrounding the Adamdighi Railway Station, bus stands, and local educational institutions. The personnel deployed fogging machines to spray insecticides and eliminate larvae while distributing informational leaflets among pedestrians and students. Organizers urged residents to maintain environmental hygiene and prevent water accumulation in flowerpots, discarded tires, and coconut shells around residential and commercial premises.
Local residents lauded the timely field intervention, noting that direct participation by Ansar-VDP personnel will contribute significantly toward suppressing vector-borne diseases across rural communities in the upazila.
