We have peacefully held a human chain and public signature program demanding intercity train stoppage at Muladuli station, but if an up and down stoppage of an intercity train is not given at this station in the future, then a larger movement will be called, said poet and literary figure Latif Joarder, Chief Advisor of Pathak, Shilp Sahitya and Samajik Parishad.
He made this announcement while speaking at the human chain-meeting and public signature program organized by Pathak, Shilp Sahitya and Samajik Parishad at Muladuli station on Saturday afternoon.
Chaired by the president of the same organization, Syed Chanchal Mahmud, Ishwardi Upazila Press Club President and National Journalist Society Central Organizing Secretary Touhid Akhter Panna, organization advisor and Ishwardi Upazila Press Club Vice President Lecturer Nazrul Islam Mukul, General Secretary Masum Ali, Treasurer Abdur Rob Sumon, BNP leader Shahnaz Parveen Mahfuza, BNP leaders Abdur Razzak, Firoz Hossain, Enamul Haque, Chairman Enamul Haque Pathan, farmer leader Siddiqur Rahman Moyez, Kitab Ali Mandal, Shahin Khalifa, Ruhul Amin Sajib, Ziaur Rahman Zia, Zahid Hasan, Anwar Hossain Khalifa, Biplob Khan, Naseeb Hasan, along with teachers, businessmen, employees and political leaders from various walks of life, delivered speeches. These areas are home to heavy, medium, and small industries, central food warehouses, agricultural crop warehouses, numerous educational institutions, and various government and private institutions. In addition, the Muladuli station, which is known as the gateway to 16 districts of North Bengal and all districts of Khulna and Barisal divisions in the southern region, does not have an intercity train stop, causing great suffering to passengers and the general public.
Not only that, there are 103 bank agent branches, about 40 ready-made garment wholesale factories in Rajapur, which occupy the wholesale market of the southern region and North Bengal. 2 weekly large commercial markets, 2 fish markets, 1 one of the largest raw material markets in the country (Muladuli Mango Garden) from where more than 100 vegetable trucks are sent to various divisions including the country's capital Dhaka every day.
