
Three business firms fined for various crimes including preparing food in unhygienic condition in Boalkhali

Three establishments in Boalkhali were fined Tk 23,000 for not having a BSTI license, preparing food in an unhygienic environment and under-metering fuel oil.
Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Kaniz Fatema imposed the fines by conducting a mobile court in the Kanungopara area of the upazila on Monday (August 25) afternoon. BSTI Meteorology Examiner Primoy Majkuri Joy served as the prosecutor. Boalkhali Police Station members provided overall cooperation.
According to the sources of the operation, a total of 23 thousand taka was fined to Suman Chowdhury, owner of Milan Sweets, 10 thousand taka to Bhai Bhai Bakery owner Md. Ali Akbar, and 3 thousand taka to Akhtarul Alam, owner of Shah Amanat Oil Agency, under the relevant sections of the BSTI Act 2018 and the Weights, Measurements and Standards Act 2018.
Assistant Commissioner (Land) Kaniz Fatema also said that the operation will continue in the public interest.
