
World Milk Day and Milk Week celebrated in Satkhira with rally, discussion

With the theme "With the immense power of milk, let’s come together," a vibrant rally, discussion session, and award distribution ceremony were held in Satkhira to mark World Milk Day and Milk Week 2025 on Sunday morning.
The event was organized at the District Livestock Office premises by the Satkhira District Livestock Department, with support from the Livestock and Dairy Development Project (LDDP), the Department of Livestock Services, Bangladesh, and the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock. The discussion and award distribution ceremony were chaired by District Livestock Officer (Acting) Dr. Bishnupad Biswas, with Satkhira’s Additional District Administrator (General) Bishnupad Pal delivering a speech as the chief guest.
Special guests who spoke at the event included Additional Police Superintendent (Sadar Circle) Mohammad Shahinur Chowdhury and Veterinary Officer of the District Veterinary Hospital Biplabjit Karmakar, among others. The program began with a colorful rally starting from the District Livestock Office, which proceeded through the city’s major roads and concluded at the venue of the discussion and award distribution. Other attendees included Md. Abdul Jabbar, Senior Assistant and Accounts Keeper of the District Livestock Office, along with various officials from the Livestock Department. At the conclusion of the discussion and award distribution, liquid milk was distributed among young students from various educational institutions. The entire event was moderated by Baliganj Upazila Livestock Officer Dr. Shankar Kumar Dey and Kalaroa Upazila Livestock Officer Dr. A K M Abdullah Al-Mamun.
