Coast Guard and Customs joint operation : ilIegal Indian goods seized in N'ganj

Indian goods worth about  Tk 5 crore 36 lakh 50 thousand, smuggled without paying customs duty, were seized in a joint operation by the Coast Guard and Customs at Kanchpur, Narayanganj on Monday night. 

  Coast Guard Media Officer Lieutenant Commander Harun-ur-Rashid provided this information through a press release. 

Based on secret intelligence, a joint operation was conducted between 3:00 AM and 5:00 AM on Saturday midnight, 01 June 2025, by Coast Guard Station Pagla and Customs at the area adjacent to Kanchpur Bridge under Sonargaon Police Station in Narayanganj.

During the operation, a suspicious black microbus heading to Dhaka from Brahmanbaria was searched, and 9,718 pieces of various types of Indian mobile displays, worth approximately Tk 5 crore 36 lakh 50 thousand and smuggled without paying customs duties, were seized.

As the smugglers sensed the presence of the Coast Guard, they managed to flee, and no one could be apprehended. Legal procedures regarding the seized goods and the microbus are currently underway.

 To  maintain the country’s law and order, the Bangladesh Coast Guard maintains a 24-hour patrol. As a result, law and order in the Coast Guard’s jurisdiction has significantly improved. The Coast Guard will continue such operations in the future.
