Woman killed over family feud in Kapasia

An aunt was killed by Basur's (husband's brother's) son, CNG driver Nazmul Sheikh (30), over a family feud in Kalapara.
The deceased Nargis Akhter (45), a housewife, is the daughter of Md. Shahid Dorji of Dharpara village in Kapasia upazila and the wife of Awlad Hossain. Nargis is the mother of three children.
The incident took place at around 11 am on Wednesday, in Dharpara village of the upazila OC of Kapasia police station Joynal Abedin Mandal confirmed the matter.
The OC said that a fight broke out between Nargis, her husband Awlad Hossain and her brother's son Nazmul Sheikh in the village house over a family feud. Nargis Akhter was killed in the incident.
The OC said that a police team from Kapasia Police Station is at the scene. The police are working with the body. Details will be announced later.
Nargis Akhter's sister Sufia Akhter said that Nazmul Sheikh stabbed her sister to death with a knife in the chest. I am now at Gazipur Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmed Medical College Hospital with my deceased sister.
Atiqur Rahman, UP member of Dharpara village, Ward No. 7 of Chandpur Union of the upazila, said that Nargis Akhter's gold ornaments were stolen last Ramadan. This incident led to a dispute with drug addict Nazmul Sheikh. The Union Parishad held several arbitration meetings regarding this. In the incident, a fight broke out between the two parties this morning. At one point, Nargis Akhter was seriously injured after being hit by Nazmul Sheikh. Later, her family and locals rescued her and took her to Gazipur Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmed Medical College Hospital, where the doctor on duty declared her dead.
The accused are absconding since the incident. Police are conducting a drive to arrest them.
The process of filing a case in this regard is underway, the police said.
