Discussion of West Zone Power Distribution Workers-Employees Union held in Faridpur

A discussion meeting was held on various issues, including the preparation of a charter of demands based on points for the purpose of raising industrial disputes in the future, organized by the Faridpur district branch under the West Zone Power Distribution Workers-Employees Union and conducted by the central executive committee.
The day-long discussion meeting was held on Friday in the conference room of the GOALCHAMAT office of WZPDCL in Faridpur town.
The meeting was presided over by Khondaker Abdul Awal, President of the Faridpur district branch of the West Zone Power Distribution Workers-Employees Union and Senior Joint Secretary of the Central Executive Committee.
Among those present were Mohammad Sheikh Nazim, General Secretary of the Faridpur district branch; Mohammad Anwar Hossain, Joint General Secretary; Sabina Khanum, Women's Secretary; Md. Shahadat Hossain, Office Secretary; Zainal Abedin, Md. Abdur Razzak, Ibnul Kazi, Mokhlesur Rahman, and other leaders of the workers' union.
In the meeting, Khondaker Abdullah Awal, President of the Faridpur district branch and Senior Joint Secretary of the Central Executive Committee, said, the oppression of workers in various ways must stop.
He demanded the regularization of temporary workers, creation of sufficient technical and non-technical posts in the organogram, promotion opportunities for SBA and third-class workers to second-class posts, employment for dependents, introduction of electricity rebate facilities like PDB, elimination of discrimination in promotion, recruitment, and pay structure, setting retirement age at 65 like the Managing Director, cancellation of the pre-payment meter project to save costs, cancellation of the unnecessary Monpura Power Distribution Project, and formation of a Power Commission to investigate corruption and looting in the power sector.
The event began with a prayer session conducted by Maulana Monsur Ahmed, Imam of the Faridpur WZPDCL Power Building Jam-e- Mosque.
