Sachingpru Jerry, MP for constituency 300, has called on everyone to come forward to keep the tourist city of Bandarban clean and environmentally friendly. He said that it is the demand of the hour to develop a planned eco-tourism-based tourism system to protect the biodiversity and natural beauty of the mountains. He said this at an iftar mahfil with journalists at his residence in the city's old Raja Math on Wednesday evening.
He further said that the mountains, rivers, waterfalls and green nature of Bandarban, one of the most attractive tourist areas in the country, are creating special attraction not only for domestic but also international tourists. To keep this beauty intact, tourists, local residents and all concerned must behave responsibly. “The tourism industry is not only for the economy, it is a reflection of a country's culture and environment. Therefore, we must be careful not to waste our own resources through unplanned development or environmental pollution.”
