We aim to make NU global hub for higher Emeducation : VC

National University is working to transform itself not only into the country’s largest university but also into a reliable global hub for quality higher education, said Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. A.S.M. Amanullah.
He made the remarks at an exchange meeting with principals and heads of institutions affiliated with National University in Thakurgaon district, focusing on ensuring the quality of higher education, strengthening academic autonomy, and bringing infrastructural and digital transformation to colleges in regional areas.
The meeting was held on Friday evening. at the Eco College Auditorium in Thakurgaon. Addressing the event as the chief guest, Professor Dr. A.S.M. Amanullah said, “We are working to make National University not only the largest university in the country but also a reliable global hub for quality higher education. It will be impossible to ensure overall improvement in the education system unless colleges in marginal and remote areas are given equal importance.”
He said fundamental changes to the traditional education system are essential in this era of globalization. One of the major goals of National University is to ensure that students acquire skills suited to the demands of the modern world. To this end, the university is placing emphasis on curriculum restructuring, innovation and research-based education.
The Vice-Chancellor further said that online learning platforms at colleges in northern districts such as Thakurgaon would be strengthened rapidly.
The meeting was chaired by Md. Aminul Akter, Director of the Office of Regional Center Coordination of National University. Among those present were Selina Akter, Principal of Thakurgaon Eco College; Professor Md. Mokarram Hossain, Principal of Thakurgaon Government College; Professor Md. Zulfikar Ali, Principal of Thakurgaon Government Women’s College; and principals and heads of various affiliated colleges and institutions in the district.
The exchange meeting was held in a cordial atmosphere. Following the meeting, a captivating cultural program was organized featuring local artists and college students from Thakurgaon. Traditional folk songs, dance performances and short theatrical pieces were presented, delighting the guests and audience.
