UNO Nahidur Rahman stops child marriage in Goalando

Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md. Nahidur Rahman has taken action to prevent child marriage in Goalanda, Rajbari on Monday afternoon.
A teenage girl's wedding was being organized in Debgram Union of the upazila. Based on a secret tip-off, UNO Nahidur Rahman and Upazila Women and Children Affairs Officer Salma Begum arrived at the girl's house.
At that time, when they informed the girl's parents about the ill effects and legal punishment of child marriage, the parents decided to stop the marriage. At that time, the UNO warned the concerned. At that time, the girl's father was fined 1 thousand taka through a mobile court.
UNO Md. Nahidur Rahman said, "Child marriage is a big curse for our society. We are always ready to protect the safety and future of every girl child by making Goalanda free from child marriage."
