
Auto-rickshaw Driver Zaman Murder Case 2020 3 Sentenced to Death in Narayanganj

A court in Narayanganj has sentenced three individuals to death in connection with the murder of an auto-rickshaw driver named Zaman Hossain in Araihazar police station area.
The convicts are Akhtar Hossain (30), son of Moslem Uddin from Bagdi area in Araihazar; Md. Badsha (35), son of late Ahmad Ali from the same area; and Md. Saiful Islam (37), son of Md. Ahad Ali from Nagerchar.
On Wednesday (May 14), Judge Md. Abu Shamim Azad of Narayanganj District and Sessions Court delivered the verdict in the presence of the accused. The information was confirmed to Live Narayanganj by Court Police Inspector (In-Charge) Kaiyum Khan.
The victim, Zaman Hossain, was the son of Shafiuddin from Bagdi village in Fatehpur Union of Araihazar upazila.
Court Police Inspector Kaiyum Khan stated that the verdict was delivered in the presence of the accused in connection with a murder case filed with Araihazar police station.
According to government prosecutor Advocate Abul Kalam Azad Zakir, on March 30, 2020, police recovered the body of a battery-run auto-rickshaw driver in Maruadi area under Brachandi Union of Araihazar. The victim’s face was wrapped with red tape, his hands and feet tied with rope, and his eyes gouged out.
Later, the body was identified as that of auto-rickshaw driver Zaman by his family. His brother Zakir Hossain filed a case following the incident. The court has now delivered its verdict in that case.
