
Umbrellas distributed among 1,500 students in Sonagazi

In an initiative taken by the Nawabpur Union Parishad of Sonagazi upazila in Feni, umbrellas have been distributed among students to ensure their smooth commute to educational institutions in adverse weather conditions.
On Monday afternoon, the umbrellas were distributed among 1,500 students at the field of Amirabad BC Laha School and College.
The event was presided over by Nawabpur Union Parishad Chairman Zahirul Alam and conducted by the union’s administrative officer Jamal Uddin. The chief guest of the event was Feni Deputy Commissioner Saiful Islam. Special guests included Golam Md. Baten, Deputy Director of the Local Government Division; Rumen Sharma, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development and Human Resource Management); and Sonagazi Assistant Commissioner (Land) Tania Akter Lubna.
Among others who spoke at the event were: Selim Badsha, Acting Principal of Amirabad BC Laha School and College; Maulana Nur Nabi, President of Feni Palli Bidyut Samity; Nazrul Islam, Head Teacher of Advocate Belayet High School of Bhor Bazar; Monoronjon Chandra Pal, Head Teacher of Tahera Begum High School; KM Fakhruddin Faruq, Joint Convener of the Upazila Swechchhasebak Dal; and Masud Rana, former President of Nawabpur Union Chhatra Dal.
