The University Grants Commission (UGC) of Bangladesh is taking the initiative to establish International and Research Offices in every university in the country with the aim of linking the country's higher education more closely with the international environment, expanding global cooperation in research and innovation, and enhancing the international capabilities of universities.

Through these offices, opportunities for multifaceted cooperation will be created, including strengthening institutional contacts with foreign universities and research institutions, teacher-student exchanges, joint research, joint or dual degree programs, obtaining international research grants, and establishing joint research laboratories and innovation centers.

UGC Chairman Prof Dr. Mamun Ahmed made these remarks as the chief guest at the 'Erasmus Plus Info Session' organized by the University Grants Commission of Bangladesh on Tuesday.

UGC Member Prof Dr. Abdullah-Al-Mamun said that various initiatives have been taken to connect the country's universities more effectively with international higher education and research networks, including joint research, joint degrees, teacher-student exchanges, and institutional capacity building.

UGC Member Prof Dr. Masuma Habib, Prof Dr. Md. Mehedi Hasan Khan, Prof Dr. Niaz Ahmed Chowdhury, UGC Secretary Dr. Fakhrul Islam, Director of International Cooperation Department Dr. Sultan Mahmud Bhuiyan, Director of Private University Management Department Jasmine Parveen and Regional Manager for Asia Region of Erasmus Plus National Focal Points Network Ashikur Rahman were present at the event.
