
Two brothers hacked to death in Jibannagar

Two brothers were hacked to death and beaten to death in broad daylight in Jibannagar, Chuadanga. Another brother was seriously injured in the incident.
The incident took place at around 8 am on Saturday in the Bridge Field area of Uthuli Union of the upazila.
The deceased are Anwar (55) and Hamza (45) sons of the deceased Khoda Box Mandal of Majherpara, Uthuli village.
According to the family sources of the deceased, Anwar and Hamza went to work at Uthuli Bridge Field around 6 am on Saturday. At that time, 8/10 people including Bipul, Jewel and Saiful took sticks and country-made weapons and hacked and injured the two brothers.
Later, locals rescued them in a bloody state and took them to Chuadanga Sadar Hospital. Hamza and Anwar died while undergoing treatment at the hospital.
According to a source, the incident took place four months ago due to a dispute over the sale of cattle. The deceased were cattle sellers and the attackers were cattle buyers. The situation in the Utholi area is tense due to this incident.
Dr. Wahid Mahmud Robin, the on-duty doctor at Chuadanga Sadar Hospital, said that two people were hacked and beaten. One died before reaching the hospital, and the other died while undergoing treatment.
Mamun Hossain Biswas, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Jibannagar Police Station, said that there was a dispute between them over the sale of cattle. A drive is being launched to arrest the accused.
