A meeting was held with journalists in Joypurhat to strengthen security measures and maintain overall stability ahead of the upcoming Sharadiya Durga Puja  on Saturday noon in the Meeting Room of the District Police Superintendent’s office.
 
The meeting was chaired by Police Superintendent Muhammad Abdul Wahab. In his keynote speech, he said, “Durga Puja is the largest religious festival of the Bengali Hindu community. Maintaining communal harmony during this festival is extremely important. For this, the cooperation of media personnel is essential.”
 
He further informed that security will be strengthened at every puja mandap during Durga Puja. Law enforcement agencies at the district and upazila levels will remain vigilant. Additionally, CCTV cameras, patrol police, and mobile teams will maintain round-the-clock surveillance.
 
Additional Police Superintendent Arif Hossain, Joypurhat Press Club President Abu Bakar Siddique, Vice-President Mashrekul Alam, senior journalists Abdul Alim, Sujon Kumar, Salehur Rahman Sojib, Joni Sarker, Rezaul Karim Reza, Ismail Hossain, and many others spoke. 
 
The speakers said that journalists are the mirror of society. They create public awareness by presenting accurate information. Therefore, the positive role of journalists is extremely important in maintaining a festive environment.
