A mass rally and protest demanding the trial of the Awami League was organized by the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement in Chattogram on Sunday.
The event, held at the Chawk Bazaar Parade Corner, attracted large numbers of students from various educational institutions across the city.
Russel Ahmed and Khan Talat Mahmud, Chattogram coordinators of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, addressed the gathering alongside other organization leaders. Special remarks were delivered by the movement’s advisor, Mostofa Sarwar Farooki.
Speakers declared, "Bangladesh’s student community has long fought on the streets against fascist regimes. Through the united movement of 2024, it was possible to expel the fascist Hasina. In the current context, students are resolute in not allowing the Awami League any chance to reassert itself in politics."
Following the rally, a protest march set off from Chawk Bazaar, moving through Jamal Khan, DC Hill, the Buddhist Temple, and concluding at New Market Mor.
In one unified voice, students called to bar any resurgence of fascist powers within the country. With a vow to safeguard democracy, they pledged to overcome any obstacles along the way.
