Soldier commits suicide in Rajendrapur Cantonment

A soldier working in Rajendrapur Cantonment in Gazipur committed suicide. The deceased soldier, S. M. Sourav Hossain (30), was a member of 11 MP Unit.
Sourav Hossain is the son of Wazir Ali Mollah of Garaganj village of Shailkupa police station in Jhenaidah district. His family consists of a wife, one daughter and one son.
According to sources, the soldier of 902 Central Workshop of Rajendrapur Cantonment committed suicide by wrapping himself in a towel at the under-construction part of the line at around 5 am today. He was wearing a uniform and boots at the time of the incident.
A few hours before the incident, he secretly deposited Tk 14,000 from his colleague Lance Corporal Yasir Arafat's mobile phone in his own mobile phone. After being caught, the unit authorities put him under surveillance.
Later, taking the opportunity to go to the washroom under the guard of the guard, he went to a nearby construction site and committed suicide.
He is known to have confessed to his guilt in a written statement and mentioned the reason for his suicide.
Joydebpur Police Station OC Abdul Halim said, the body of the army member has been recovered and sent to Gazipur Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmed Medical College Hospital for autopsy.
