Lakeview Garden is being built next to the beautiful Fishery Ghat road in Rangamati district town.
The Rangamati Division of the Roads and Highways (RHD) Department has taken the initiative for this. Currently, the construction of the park is in the final stage.
Additional Chief Engineer of SOH Chittagong Zone Md. Ataur Rahman inaugurated the tree plantation program inside the park on Wednesday afternoon.
At that time, Superintendent Engineer of SOH Chittagong Zone Md. Jahed Hossain, Executive Engineer of Chittagong Road Division Md. Shahe Arefin, Executive Engineer of Rangamati Road Division Sabuj Chakma and other engineers of SOH were present.
The Fishery Road Link Dam, the heart of Rangamati town, has regained its aesthetic appearance after six decades. This dam is the junction of three important areas of the city - Reserve Bazar, Tabalchhari and Banarupa - in Rangamati.
A strong RCC retaining wall has been built on this 663-meter-long embankment. The width of the road has also been expanded by filling it with soil.
According to the sources of the Rangamati Division of the SAOJ, the 650-meter-long SAOJ Lakeview Garden is being built on the Fishery Ghat connection road in Rangamati city. SAOJ plans to make the entire garden a collection of more than a hundred species of plants. Work is underway to beautify it.
SAOJ's Rangamati Executive Engineer Sabuj Chakma said that the embankment will now be much more sustainable and environmentally friendly through permanent retaining walls, drainage systems and expansion work. The Fishery Road Connection Dam is an important infrastructure for the economy and transportation of Rangamati. Once the renovation work of its dam is completed, not only will the city's environment improve, but it can also develop as a potential tourism spot.
It is now not only a symbol of Rangamati's sustainability, but is also becoming a potential tourist destination—one that will become the pride of the city's residents and the center of attraction for incoming visitors.
