
Rajshahi Education Board : HSC History 2nd question paper cancelled

The question paper for the History 2nd Paper of the upcoming HSC examination under the Rajshahi Education Board has been cancelled.
This decision was taken after a trunk containing the question papers was found open at the Dhamoirhat Police Station in Naogaon. The Chairman of the Rajshahi Education Board, Prof A N M Mofakkharul Islam, confirmed the matrer.
A N M Mofakkharul Islam said, the question papers are supposed to be stored in the police station’s vault or strong room. However, keeping them in the lock-up where accused persons are detained is entirely unacceptable. The police will have to provide an explanation regarding this matter.
Immediately after the incident, the Sub-Inspector (SI) and a constable responsible for the police station lock-up were withdrawn and attached to the police lines.
It is learnt that on Tuesday night, an accused person detained in the Dhamoirhat Police Station lock-up removed the seal and opened the lock of the trunk. He then took out the packeted question papers from the trunk, scattered them, and tore some of them.
Naogaon’s Police Superintendent Mohammad Safiul Sarwar said that the trunk containing the question papers was sealed and locked. Although one hand of the accused was handcuffed, the other was free. Using his nails, he removed the seal, opened the lock, scattered the question papers, and tore some of them. This was seen in the CCTV footage.
Naogaon’s Additional Deputy Commissioner Sadia Afrin said, the packet contained 50 question papers, all of which were recovered. Although a few were torn, no question papers were lost.
Meanwhile, on Saturday morning, at a meeting held at the auditorium of the Kara Training Centre, Rajshahi, with the centre in-charge officers of the 2025 HSC examination under the Rajshahi Education Board, the Chairman of the Rajshahi Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board, Prof A. N. M. Mofakkharul Islam, urged the centre in-charge officers to conduct the examinations in a fair, orderly, and disciplined manner. He stated that if any centre in-charge officer is found involved in any illegal activities related to the examination, legal action will be taken by the board as per the rules. He emphasized that the centre in-charge officers must maintain communication and coordination with the education board, district administration, police administration, upazila executive officers, and all colleges under their jurisdiction to ensure the examinations are conducted fairly and systematically. He also sought the sincere cooperation of public representatives, administration, law enforcement agencies, teachers, and guardians.
The Secretary of the Rajshahi Education Board, Prof Dr. Shamim Ara Chowdhury, Controller of Examinations Prof Ariful Islam, College Inspector Prof Mahbub Hasan, School Inspector Shamim Hasan, Deputy Director (Accounts and Audit) Ibrahim Hossain, Senior System Analyst Mohammad Shafikul Islam, and Deputy Controller of Examinations (Higher Secondary) Mosha. Selina Parveen, among others, were present.
It is mentioned that in the 2025 Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examination, a total of 1,33,613 students, including 68,960 male and 64,653 female students from 755 colleges under the Rajshahi Education Board, will participate in 207 examination centres.
