A field exercise focusing on measures to protect vulnerable communities during cyclones was held in Kalapara, Patuakhali on Friday evening at the Upazila Administration ground.
Through the drill, preparedness for early response to cyclones and practical field-level actions during a cyclone were highlighted.
Chaired by Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Yasin Sadek, the event was attended by Ahmadul Haque, Additional Secretary and Director of CPP, as the chief guest. Special guests included Abu Naim, Project Manager of the non-governmental organization Cordaid, and Assistant Director of Kalapara Upazila CPP, Asaduzzaman Khan, along with Upazila Project Implementation Officer Mokchedul Alam, Upazila Agriculture Officer Md. Arafat Hossain, CPP Team Leader Md. Motaleb Fakir, Kalapara Press Club President Md. Humayun Kabir, General Secretary S.M. Mosharraf Hossain Mintu, and former President of Kuakata Press Club A.M. Mizanur Rahman Bullet, along with over a hundred CPP members.
