The second death anniversary of AKM Mustaque Ali, one of the founding Executive Directors of INCIDIN Bangladesh, was observed with due solemnity on Saturday.
INCIDIN Bangladesh, a rights-based civil society organization working on promoting human rights along with the rights of children, observed the day in a befitting manner through multiple events. Mustaque Ali had an unwavering commitment to protect the rights of the marginalized, specially the street children.
The INCIDIN team members, along with the family members of Mustaque Ali, gathered at the Martyred Intellectual graveyard in the capital to pay their homage.
At noon on the day, a special lunch was served among the street children at the Daytime Drop-in-Centres, run by INCIDIN Bangladesh, at Dhalpur, Jatrabari in the capital. Besides, a discussion commemorating the life, aspirations, work, and achievements of Mr. Ali was held at the AKM Mustaque Ali Conference Room at the Head Office of INCIDIN Bangladesh at Mohammadpur in the capital.
The session was presided over by Tofazzal Hossain Manju, Chairman of INCIDIN Bangladesh. AKM Masud Ali, the Executive Director of the organization, led the session in which friends, family, and colleagues took part.
The speakers highlighted Mr. Ali's roles as a devoted social activist.
