Protest march, human chain demanding removal of UP Chairman Milton in Panchbibi

A protest march and human chain were held in Joypurhat Panchbibi Upazila demanding the removal of Mamunur Rashid Milton, Chairman of the No. 3 Ayma Rasulpur Union Parishad on Sunday at 11:00 am.
People from all walks of life of Ayma Rasulpur Union organized the event in front of the Union Parishad office.
Participants in the human chain alleged that despite being the organizational secretary of the Joypurhat municipal unit of the banned organization Bangladesh Awami League, Mamunur Rashid Milton continues to hold the position of chairman. They accused him of long-standing arbitrary actions, corruption, and irregularities. They claimed he is often absent from the office during regular hours, causing development activities in the union to stall. Additionally, they raised allegations of irregularities in the distribution of relief and allowances, as well as other services.
Present at the event were Md. Rahid Hossain, convener of the Upazila Krishak Dal; Harun Ar Rashid Raju, president of the Ayma Rasulpur Union BNP; Nurul Hoda, UP member and general secretary of the Ayma Union BNP; Harun Ar Rashid Liton, organizational secretary of the Ayma Rasulpur Union BNP; UP member Zakir Hossain; along with people from various professions, political figures, youth, and other UP members of the union.
Speakers urged the government to immediately remove the chairman to establish good governance in the area and restore the legitimate rights of the people.
