Prominent businessman and assistant head teacher of Jaldhaka Upazila of Nilphamari, Asadul Haque Master, held a press conference accusing Daily Manabzamin correspondent of Jaldhaka Shahjahan Badsha alias 'Jiner Badsha' of fraud.

The press conference was held on Wednesday at his business firm 'Jaban & Sons'. Asadul Haque Master said that for the last three years, Shahjahan has taken a large numbet of bricks, sand, cement and various construction materials from his company or various contracting projects and construction of private houses. But even after a long time he did not pay the price. When he asked for the due money, he repeatedly delayed it on various pretexts.

When the matter was raised at the Jaldhaka police station in the presence of local dignitaries, Shahjahan voluntarily issued three cheques but when submitted to the bank, the signatures of the checks do not match and they are rejected. It proves that he deliberately cheated by issuing fake cheques.

In protest of the incident, on March 17, hundreds of businessmen and common people protested in front of Shahjahan's house and demanded swift legal action against him. In the press conference, Asadul Haque Master made three demands to the administration which include immediate legal action should be taken against King Shah Jahan; the money owed to the victims should be collected from him quickly and strict legal action should be taken to prevent such fraud in future.

The common man's question is, how can a journalist indulge in a heinous act of fraud? The local residents demanded that the administration should take more strict measures to protect the interests of the businessmen. It should be noted that due to immoral allegations against Shahjaha , the authorities of Dainik Jugar Alo newspaper canceled its representation in Jaldhaka.

Several attempts were made to contact Shahjahan for his statement on the matter, but he did not respond.
